8 Steps To Healthy, Clear Skin – No More Expensive Products

FINAL PIN 3.png

1. Start your day with lemon water.

Drinking a glass of water after you wake up makes you more refreshed, gives you more natural energy, and can be a step towards healthier skin. Remember, one glass in the morning isn’t the cure-all. You should continue to drink water throughout the day.

2. Eat seeds and nuts.

Seeds and nuts are packed with vital nutrients to promote the regeneration of skin cells and fight off bacteria that may lead to acne. Throw them in your salad or stir fry if you aren’t a fan of munching on nuts. Both are best for you when eaten raw and unsalted.

3. Replace refined grains with whole grains.

Refined grains should be avoided at all cost when you’re trying to clear up your skin (or live a healthy, long-lasting life). Foods like white bread, processed breakfast cereals, white rice, pretzels, potato chips, cakes, cookies, etc. trigger hormonal fluctuations and inflammation. Whole grain is a lot healthier and still tastes wonderful.

4. Eat fatty fish.

Oily fish like salmon or tuna provide your body with biotin and omega-3 fatty acids, which fight inflammation in the body. Inflammation produces free radicals, and free radicals contribute to aging by attacking collagen. Fatty fish is also important for brain and heart health, so you should be eating them anyway.

5. Add pulses to your diet.

Pulses are high in protein, high in zinc, and low in sugar (which is exactly what you need). The zinc found in pulses aids in evening out oil production – if your skin is too oily, zinc will reduce the amount of oil produced. They lower your risk for cardiovascular disease, are filled with fiber, reduce cholesterol, and contribute to healthy bones and teeth.

6. Cut out sugar and pastries.

‘Sugar face’ is a real thing. Sugar has a toxic effect on the body, and giving it up can make you look ten years younger. Sugar weakens the immune system, which leads to bacteria clogging pores and creating pimples. Sugary fruits aren’t the answer either, but that doesn’t mean you should remove them from your diet completely. Eat fruits that are lower on the glycemic index, such as blueberries, kiwi, and blackberries.

7. Eat vegetables.

Eating 3 to 5 portions of vegetables each day creates powerful benefits for your body. Vegetables reduce cellular damage and normalize skin cell development and skin tone. Red, orange, and yellow vegetables all contain carotenoids that can help slow down the aging process by providing protection from free radicals and toxins.

8. Delete dairy.

Dairy products may stimulate oil glands in the skin, which set the stage for acne. Stop eating dairy. No cheese, no milk, and no ice cream. It’s a bummer that dairy is so bad, but if you want healthier skin, it must go. Your dermatologist won’t be the one to tell you this, but we will (and a holistic doctor would probably agree with us).

6 Health Benefits Of Eggs

FINAL PIN 2

1. Help Prevent Stroke & Diabetes

Higher egg consumption may reduce the risk of metabolic syndrome in all adults over 40 and had a positive impact on blood glucose and triglyceride levels in men specifically. (1)

2. Healthy Skin

Lutein and zeaxanthin protect not only your eyes but your skin as well. They help slow down the oxidative damage caused by harmful rays, specifically UV rays. Plus eggs contain five of the eight nutrients to best fight against skin cancer. (2)

3. Improve Eye Health

Eating eggs increases lutein and zeaxanthin concentrations, which are two nutrients that are especially important for your eyes. (3) They act as both antioxidants and anti-inflammatories helping filter out the dangerous high-energy blue light. (4)

4. Help Weight Loss

Eggs are great for people trying to lose weight. They have a high protein content, and they also contain lutein – a vitamin which may positively impact a person’s physical activity level. (5)

5. Maintain Brain Health & Liver Function

Eggs are rich in choline, a macronutrient that assists in liver function and brain development. Low levels of choline are linked to some types of cancer and fatty liver disease. (6) Choline has been found to treat depression, improve memory and increase cognitive function. (7)

6. Reduce Risk of Heart Disease

Consuming the right kinds of eggs can be beneficial regardless of those at risk for heart disease or who have diabetes. (8) Some eggs are a heart-healthy option because they contain omega-3 fatty acids, which lower blood triglycerides and help regulate and lower cholesterol. (9) In addition to lowering triglycerides, eggs can lower the risk of coronary heart disease. (10)

5 Health Benefits Of Water

FINAL PIN 2.png

1. Prevents Cramps And Sprains

Proper hydration helps keep joints lubricated and muscles elastic so joint pain is less likely. Without proper hydration, long periods of exercise and physical pain can lead to painful cramps. However, there are times when simple hydration won’t be able to supply the proper amounts of electrolytes that support normal muscle function. As a result, athletes commonly drink sports drinks to further prevent cramps.

2. Natural Headache Remedy

Starting to feel a headache coming on? A glass of water might be just the thing you need. A water-deprivation headache is common and can often impair concentration and increase irritability.

3. Boosts Immune System

Stop taking so many sick days! If you’re like most people, your daily routine includes a steaming hot shower at some point. Although, you could be receiving miraculous health benefits by turning the water cold. Through cold water therapy, your body gains the vitality and resilience through managed stress – like fasting or a high-intensity workout. It’s simple, almost free and all you need is your own shower.

4. Improved Skin Complexion

Water helps moisturize skin – keeping it fresh, soft and glowing while also getting rid of wrinkles. One of the best free anti-aging treatments around. Drinking water increases blood flow through the capillaries in the skin. However, over-consumption of water won’t necessarily mean perfect skin.

5. Flushes Out Toxins And Eliminates False Hunger

Drinking water every day is essential to almost all organs in the body. It carries nutrients to the cells and helps regulate body functions. Kidneys eliminate toxins and waste products from the blood and urine. Without enough water, your kidneys won’t have enough fluid to function normally. Instead of flushing the waste out, your body holds the toxins.
