Nuts are becoming increasingly popular as a quick and healthy snack. All of them are packed full of nutrients and offer various health benefits. Lower blood pressure, improve brain function and fight off old age!

Health Benefits Of Nuts: Vitamins, Minerals, And More

Almonds

Almonds have an incredibly impressive nutrient profile. A 1 ounce serving of almonds contains a large amount of Vitamin E, Manganese and Magnesium. They also contain quite a bit of copper, vitamin B2 and antioxidants – only from a small handful! They also contain nutrients that may benefit brain health.

Pecans

Pecans, like most other nuts, contain various nutrients, minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins. Pecans offer fiber which promotes colon health and facilitates regular bowel movements. Pecans also contain oleic acid, a fatty acid which has been found to reduce the risk of breast cancer. L-arginine is an amino acid found in Pecans that encourages the growth of healthy hair.

Cashews

Cashews might not have as much fiber as other nuts, but they still contain many important minerals and vitamins. Cashews can help form blood cells, protect against cataracts and naturally reduce blood pressure. Not to mention, they contain good fats and can prevent diabetes. Cashews are a versatile and healthy food among other nuts.

Hazelnuts

Hazelnuts are heart-healthy nuts that are sweet in flavor but relatively high in calories. However, a couple more calories could be worth it if you’re eating hazelnuts. They can lower bad cholesterol, improve brain function and reduce symptoms associated with allergies. Consuming only a handful of hazelnuts for a snack may provide your body with all of these benefits.

Walnuts

Walnuts contain significant amounts of essential nutrients such as proteins, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, and healthy fatty acids. They help alleviate mood, support brain health, and aid with weight loss. The higher omega-3 and nut consumption can improve health by keeping arteries clear, balancing cholesterol, improving circulation, and lowering inflammation. Walnuts have high anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants that can reduce the establishment and growth of human prostate cancer cells.

Peanuts

Peanuts contain a number of heart-healthy nutrients and taste great. Studies have found that peanuts may be useful for weight loss, reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, and protect against gallstones. Peanuts also offer the same antioxidants found in red wine – neutralizing free radicals and preventing toxins from damaging your cells. The downside to peanuts is they can increase your LDL (bad) cholesterol, and they should be eaten in moderation.
